On Sept. 15, 2013, four months after Barbara's death and a week after what would have been her ninety-fourth birthday,
I received an email from Kathy Gentry which contained this text: 'I have a wonderful line drawing of "Fat Kate", artist, Barbara Kovach, 1969.
I bought it in 1969 (rpk: from Gil Shor's gallery in Inverness ) shortly after I moved to Marin County to teach at Marin Country Day School.
I am a Kentuckian and returned to Kentucky after 3 years of teaching. "Fat Kate" goes with me everywhere
and has a prominent place in my gallery'. Kathy photographed the framed drawing and sent it to me. This is Barbara at the height of her powers.
